Precision punch and die profile cutting to ±0.003 mm on advanced EDM machines. Carbide cutting, taper cutting, and dedicated wire EDM job work serving Bhosari's manufacturing hub.
Wire EDM for the profiles conventional machining cannot reach.
Wire cut EDM (electrical discharge machining) cuts hardened and exotic conductive materials using a fine electrically charged wire — with no cutting force and no heat distortion. It is the process behind accurate punch and die profiles, precision inserts and intricate shapes that cannot be milled or ground conventionally.
At Precision Industries we run Electronica, Sodick and Mitsubishi wire EDM machines at our Pimpri MIDC facility. This supports both our own tooling manufacture and wire EDM job work for tool rooms and manufacturers who need overflow capacity or lack in-house wire cutting. Every job is cut from your DXF/DWG profile and inspected before dispatch.
Being in Pimpri-Chinchwad — minutes from Bhosari and Chakan MIDC — means fast collection and delivery for the Pune industrial corridor, with dispatch across Maharashtra for outstation clients.

Delivering localized precision profile cutting to regional manufacturing hubs.
Bhosari MIDC hosts a vast array of specialized job shops and medium-scale manufacturers whose tooling needs are diverse and unpredictable. A standard machine shop often lacks the specialized equipment required to cut hardened tool steels or intricate internal profiles. Precision Industries steps in to provide Bhosari’s manufacturers with dedicated, reliable Wire Cut EDM job work. Whether it’s cutting intricate splines, keyways in hardened gears, or precise extrusion dies, our multi-machine setup ensures we have the capacity and flexibility to handle Bhosari's varied and fast-paced demands efficiently.
Advanced machine technology delivering flawless profiles and pristine surface finishes.
Wire Cut EDM is the ultimate solution for machining complex, tight-tolerance profiles in materials that are otherwise unmachinable due to their hardness. At Precision Industries, we operate a fleet of high-end Electronica, Sodick, and Mitsubishi Wire Cut EDM machines. This technological diversity gives us unparalleled flexibility and redundancy, ensuring we can meet the most demanding production schedules for our ISO 9001:2015 certified job work.
Our commitment to precision is absolute. We utilize premium grade brass and coated EDM wires, combined with rigorously maintained dielectric fluid systems. This allows our experienced operators to dial in the machine parameters to achieve profile accuracies of ±0.003 mm (3 microns). This level of precision is critical for manufacturing interchangeable punch and die components for progressive press tools, ensuring uniform clearance and eliminating the need for manual bench fitting.
Beyond dimensional accuracy, surface integrity is paramount. Conventional machining can induce thermal stress or mechanical distortion. Wire EDM is a non-contact process; the wire never actually touches the workpiece. Material is removed via highly controlled electrical sparks, resulting in zero cutting forces and a pristine, stress-free surface finish. This is especially vital for the longevity of high-wear die inserts and specialized aerospace components.
Pushing the boundaries of what can be machined.
Our Wire Cut EDM capability extends far beyond standard mild steel. We routinely machine Tungsten Carbide, one of the hardest and most wear-resistant materials used in modern tooling. Cutting carbide requires specialized machine generators and specific knowledge to prevent micro-cracking. We have mastered this process, providing ultra-durable carbide punches and die inserts for high-volume stamping operations where standard tool steel would fail prematurely.
We also specialize in machining fully hardened tool steels (such as D2, D3, H13, and High-Speed Steel (HSS)) without affecting their metallurgical properties. Because the EDM process relies on electrical conductivity rather than mechanical hardness, we can cut a block of HRC 62 tool steel just as easily as an annealed block. This allows toolmakers to heat-treat the solid block first, eliminating the risk of distortion, and then wire-cut the final precise profile.
Furthermore, our advanced machines feature independent U and V axes, allowing for highly complex Taper Cutting. We can program different profiles on the top and bottom of the workpiece, creating precise draft angles for injection moulds, specialized relief angles for extrusion dies, or complex transitional shapes that are mathematically impossible to produce on conventional milling machines.

Our largest Wire Cut EDM machines can accommodate workpieces up to approximately 800 mm x 600 mm x 300 mm in height. Please share your specific part dimensions and we will confirm machine availability and routing.
Wire Cut EDM requires a pre-existing hole (a start hole) to thread the wire through in order to cut internal profiles (like a die cavity). We provide in-house EDM super-drill (hole popper) services to create these start holes quickly and accurately. We cannot cut blind holes (holes that do not go all the way through) with Wire EDM; that requires CNC milling or Sinker EDM.
By utilizing multiple 'skim passes' (running the wire over the cut surface multiple times at lower power settings), we can achieve an exceptionally fine surface finish, often comparable to a finely ground surface (Ra 0.4 to 0.8 µm), eliminating the need for secondary polishing in many tooling applications.
For the fastest and most accurate quotation, please provide a 2D vector file (DXF or DWG) of the profile to be cut, clearly stating the required tolerances, the material type, and the material thickness.
